About

Wake Forest Parkour, centered in Wake Forest, NC, hopes to promote parkour in our local community and the larger Raleigh area through collaboration with other groups and persons. WFP holds to the true parkour philosophy of creativity, functionality, and longevity; Etre et Durer, “to be strong and to last.” Our desire is to hold to the high standards of the European traceurs, as well as focus on educating others about fitness and health, mentally and physically. WFP provides instruction and events within a safe, fun atmosphere designed to cultivate this understanding of parkour. Our motto is Precision in Movement, Perfection in Mind.

Stephen Carr instructs WFP’s classes and meetups. He began training parkour in 2007 and, with a background in martial arts, quickly embraced the NC parkour scene. Moved by his love for the art and desire for betterment, Stephen has devoted much of his time to the promotion, instruction, and overall training of Parkour. In May 2011, he achieved level 1 A.D.A.P.T. certification in Ohio. Stephen drinks too much coffee, and lives with his wife, Sarah, in Wake Forest.

Jonathan McDill assists with outdoor instruction. He began training Parkour in 2008 and has quickly developed a talent for the art. Jonathan (Jo) not only instructs and trains Parkour, but also does all of the programming work for the WFP website. In May 2010, he attended a seminar by Parkour Generations and the Yamakasi. Jo also plays the drums and is level 100+ on Runescape.
